2026 Boston Qualifying Times and Qualifier Races
Check Boston Marathon qualifying standards, then browse Marathon Scout's index of qualifying marathons by date, location, and race status. The B.A.A. does not publish a single official list of Boston Marathon qualifying races, so Marathon Scout uses B.A.A. qualification guidance plus official race sources. Confirm course certification and current eligibility before registering.
2026 and 2027 Boston qualifying times
The B.A.A. currently lists the same Boston Marathon qualifying standards for 2026 and 2027. Standards are based on age on Boston Marathon race day, gender category, and official net time from a certified full marathon.

Check the B.A.A. qualifying standards before choosing a race or submitting a qualifying time.
What are the Boston qualifying times for 2026?
The 2026 Boston Marathon qualifying times range from 2:55:00 for men ages 18-34 to 5:20:00 for women and non-binary athletes ages 80 and older. The B.A.A. uses age on Boston Marathon race day and official net time.
Are the 2027 Boston qualifying times different?
The B.A.A. currently lists the same age-group standards for the 2026 and 2027 Boston Marathon, with additional net-downhill course adjustments beginning with 2027 registration.
Does running a Boston qualifying time guarantee entry?
No. A qualifying time gives a runner the chance to apply. If more qualified runners apply than the field can accept, the fastest runners relative to their age and gender standard are accepted first.
What was the Boston Marathon cutoff time for 2026?
For the 2026 Boston Marathon, runners needed to be at least 4 minutes and 34 seconds faster than their qualifying standard to be accepted through the qualified-athlete field.
What changes for downhill qualifying races in 2027?
Starting with 2027 Boston Marathon registration, the B.A.A. adds 5 minutes to times from courses with 1,500 to 2,999 feet of net downhill and 10 minutes to courses with 3,000 to 5,999 feet. Courses with 6,000 feet or more of net downhill are not allowed for Boston qualifying.
Where can I find Boston qualifier races?
