About the FTC Mary Andrews Marathon

Florida Track Club stages this volunteer-led marathon in memory of Gainesville runner Mary Andrews. The intimate field, local club support, and scholarship fundraising give the race a personal character alongside its qualification appeal.

Course

Marathoners complete four out-and-back loops on the paved Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail. The flat certified route has only seven turns across 26.2 miles, while tree canopy provides shade and helps reduce wind.

Race-day weather

January in inland north Florida often starts cool, but humidity and a quick warm-up are possible by late morning. The tree canopy limits direct sun and wind, though rain can leave the paved trail damp.
