About the Redding Marathon

This northern California winter marathon is organized by the SWEAT Running Club. A bused start, river corridor, and signature glass bridge finish give the small race a distinct local identity.

Course

The point-to-point certified route begins near Shasta Dam and trends downhill toward Redding on paved roads and river trails. Early descending miles can disguise the smaller climbs that arrive later.

Race-day weather

January is cool but often wet in Redding. Rain can make paths slick, while clear mornings may start near freezing before warming under direct sun.

Is Redding Marathon a Boston qualifier?

Yes. Redding Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier.
