About the Run Iron Mountain Half Marathon
The 2026 event is the 14th annual Run Iron Mountain. Local volunteers, cheer groups and entertainment give the half a hometown character, while race proceeds extend the weekend's impact into Dickinson County.
Course
The road half explores Iron Mountain and the surrounding Dickinson County landscape. Rather than a closed downtown loop, runners get a broader Upper Peninsula setting with community support along the route.
Race-day weather
Late September in Michigan's Upper Peninsula often starts cool, but wind and changing cloud cover are possible. Light layers are useful until the field settles into the race.
