About the Platte River Half Marathon

Course
The race starts and finishes on the Platte River Trail next to the Breckenridge Brewery campus in Littleton. The out and back route is entirely paved and follows the South Platte north through Englewood, Sheridan and Denver before turning around. Total ascent is around 300 feet, which is gentle enough that the altitude is usually the harder adjustment for visiting runners.
Race-day weather
Mid April in the Denver metro can swing hard. Starts are often in the 30s to 40s with a chance of late season snow, and the same weekend can turn sunny and 60s by the finish. Plan layers you can shed and expect thin, dry air at about 5,300 feet.
