Course
The half stays inside Kensington Metropark and hugs the Kent Lake shoreline for much of the distance, using the flattest routing the park allows. Park roads and paths keep footing predictable in late October.

Late October in southeast Michigan means cold starts, often in the 30s, with highs in the 40s or 50s. Wind off Kent Lake can add a chill, so most of the field races in layers, costume or not.
