About the Madison Mini-Marathon
The Madison Mini-Marathon is an established capital-city half with a compact downtown start and strong local identity. The route connects the University of Wisconsin, city landmarks and green space rather than staying on a generic suburban loop.
Course
The course passes Capitol Square, State Street, Camp Randall and the UW Arboretum before returning toward Lake Mendota. Its urban turns and changing terrain reward controlled early pacing more than an all-out opening mile.
Race-day weather
Early August in Madison can be warm and humid even at the morning start. Runners should plan hydration around heat rather than counting on the lakeside setting to keep conditions cool.
