Kyrgyzstan's biggest spring marathon uses the Run the Silk Road platform to draw regional and international runners to Lake Issyk-Kul.
Course
The road course starts and finishes near the hippodrome at Baktuu-Dolonotuu, with the long race built around lake-shore running and mountain views.
Race-day weather
Early May can bring cool mountain air at the start and stronger sun later in the race. Altitude and wind off the lake matter more than heat.
