About the Big Island International Half Marathon

The Big Island International Marathon celebrates its 30th running in 2027. Its half provides the same Hilo host hotel, expo and coastal setting in a separately registered 13.1-mile event.

Course

Near the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, runners join the old coast before returning toward Hilo Bay. Sea-level running helps, but tropical humidity makes even effort and early hydration important.

Race-day weather

March in Hilo is typically warm, humid and capable of producing rain. Cloud cover may moderate the sun, though exposed coastal stretches can still heat quickly.
