Zombie Half Marathon

About the Zombie Half Marathon
The Anchorage Running Club runs this as its late-season half marathon, and the costume theme sits on top of a straightforward trail race. The field is mostly local, entry stays inexpensive, and the club holds the race whatever the weather and trail conditions look like.
Course
One way from Goose Lake to Kincaid Chalet. Runners follow the Chester Creek trail past the West Chester Lagoon, then turn onto the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail for the long stretch beside Cook Inlet. The surface is paved throughout, with rolling ground and a pull up to the chalet at the end.
Race-day weather
October mornings in Anchorage often start near freezing, and the trail can hold ice, wet leaves, or early snow. Wind off Cook Inlet makes the coastal miles feel colder than the start line does.
