  • About 414 feet of total elevation change with a 3 hour 30 minute course limit.

  • Half marathon field usually lands between 150 and 190 finishers.

About the Zanesville City Half Marathon

Few races get a landmark this odd to work with. The Y Bridge forks over the confluence of the Muskingum and Licking rivers, and the half marathon uses it as the centerpiece of a downtown loop that starts and finishes near Secrest Auditorium alongside a 5K.

Course

Runners leave downtown, cross the Y Bridge, work through the older neighborhoods and return over the Sixth Street bridge. Total elevation change is roughly 414 feet, so it rolls rather than climbs, and the bridge approaches break the rhythm more than the numbers suggest.

Race-day weather

Late September in southeastern Ohio usually gives a cool start in the 50s that climbs through the morning. Humidity is generally manageable and the river valley can hold fog at the gun.
