Quick facts
- Hard 2 hour 45 minute cutoff because the Oktoberfest parade reclaims the streets.
- Flat riverfront and city loop starting and finishing in Riverside Park.
- Half marathon field typically runs between 240 and 290 finishers.
- Entry supports the local YMCA food program.
Course
The course leaves Riverside Park along the riverfront and picks up a section of the Oktoberfest parade route through the city. It is flat and quick by Wisconsin standards, but the parade schedule imposes the tightest cutoff of any half in the region and the course is pulled on time.
Race-day weather
Late September mornings in La Crosse tend to start in the 40s and warm into the 60s. River fog at the 7 am gun is common and usually clears within the first few miles.
About the YMCA Maple Leaf Half Marathon
