About the Visite de Broussard Half Marathon
Most small Louisiana races lead with a 5K, but Visite de Broussard is built around the half marathon itself, with only a kids mile alongside. Presented with Lafayette General backing, the race sends its proceeds to Love Acadiana, a nonprofit supporting foster families and disaster survivors in the region.
Course
The race starts and finishes at the Broussard Sports Complex and runs Broussard's flat suburban roads outside Lafayette. There is little elevation to manage, so pacing comes down to heat discipline rather than terrain.
Race-day weather
Mid September in south Louisiana is still summer. Expect warm, humid conditions even at the 6 am start, and plan fluids and effort accordingly from the first mile.
