Course
A flat and fast loop through the residential streets of the Graywood Plantation community, starting and finishing at Graywood Park. Neighborhood roads mean plenty of spots for spectators, frequent water stops and portable toilets, and no elevation worth naming.
Race-day weather
Mid December on the Gulf Coast is mild and often humid, typically 45 to 65 degrees. A warm damp morning is more likely than a cold one, and the flat open streets give little wind protection.
About the Swamp Stomp Half Marathon
Southwest Louisiana's main half marathon and a club event rather than a promoter production, run continuously through hurricane years and pandemic disruption. Entry is capped at age 14 and up, and the finish line party is the reason a lot of the field comes back.
