About the Treasure Coast Halloween Half Marathon
The local Treasure Coast running club has run this on Halloween weekend for a decade and change. The early gun is the whole design, getting most of the field through the distance before the Florida sun becomes the limiting factor, with a relay option for teams who want the day without the full 13.1.
Course
The route works the barrier island out of the Stuart Beach lot, with ocean on one side and river on the other and almost nothing in the way of climbing. It reads fast on paper, but the exposed stretches and the humidity decide how the closing miles feel.
Race-day weather
Late October on the Treasure Coast is still warm and humid at dawn, often low 70s with a sea breeze. The 6:30 start is the main defense, and the last few miles are where the heat shows up.
