About the Taupō Marathon
One of New Zealand's established winter running events, Taupō offers marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K races from a shared lakefront base.
Course
The marathon uses repeated lakefront and river-side sections around Taupō. Turnarounds and small rollers break up an otherwise approachable paved profile.
Race-day weather
August starts can be cold or frosty, with wind and rain also possible. Clear winter sun may warm exposed lakefront sections later in the morning.
