About the Sun Moon Lake Marathon
Sun Moon Lake Marathon circles one of Taiwan's best-known landscapes from the Xiangshan Visitor Center. The race combines lake views with cultural landmarks and a challenging rolling profile.
Course
The lake circuit passes Shuishe, Wenwu Temple, the ropeway, Xuanzang Temple and Syuanguang Temple before returning to Xiangshan. Rolling roads and substantial climbing late in the race reward conservative pacing.
Race-day weather
Nantou mornings can begin cool near the water and warm as the sun rises. Humidity, pockets of shade and exposed lakeside sections bring changing conditions around the loop.
