Sham-ROCK-N-Run Half Marathon
Sham-ROCK-N-Run sends a March field down Ocean Boulevard on a flat certified North Myrtle Beach course with live music stationed at every mile.
Quick facts
- Certified flat road course with a 16 minute per mile cutoff, which closes the half at 10:30 a.m.
- The half marathon, 10K, and 5K all start together at 7:00 a.m., so the opening miles run crowded before the field splits.
- Live entertainment is stationed at each mile, including bagpipers, drummers, and DJs along the oceanfront.
- Half marathon fields have finished in the 300 to 370 range in recent editions.

About the Sham-ROCK-N-Run Half Marathon
Coastal Race Productions builds this around the North Strand rather than the busier Myrtle Beach strip, and the half is the anchor distance rather than an add-on. Fields have sat in the 300s across recent editions.
Course
The route starts on Main Street and turns south along Ocean Boulevard, holding roughly three miles of open ocean frontage before working back through the flat North Myrtle Beach street grid. Elevation change is close to nothing.
Race-day weather
Late March on the Grand Strand is usually cool at the 7:00 a.m. gun and mild by the finish. Onshore wind along the boulevard tends to matter more than temperature.
