About the Greenville Half Marathon
Built on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, this late-winter race has become one of Upstate South Carolina's most in-demand halves. The field is capped at 3,500 half marathoners, the event has sold out in recent editions, and a 5K shares the morning for runners covering the shorter trail section.
Course
The route runs point to point from Travelers Rest to downtown Greenville on the paved Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail. The first four miles roll, then most of the elevation loss comes over the final nine, which makes patience early and a strong close the right race plan.
Race-day weather
Late February in Upstate South Carolina usually means a cold start in the 30s or 40s with mild finishing temperatures. Rain is possible, but heat rarely is, and the tree-lined trail limits wind exposure.
