Seawitch Fall Half Marathon Classic

The Seashore Striders, a Delaware beach running club founded in 1988, stage this half during Rehoboth's Sea Witch festival weekend. It is a club-organized race rather than a big production, which keeps the field small and the setting, Cape Henlopen State Park in late October, the main draw.

From the main beach parking lot the route heads to Fort Miles, out toward Lewes to a turnaround, then back through the park past Herring Point and along the Gordons Pond trail toward Rehoboth before returning to the finish. Expect park roads and paved trail with dunes and ocean in view.

Late October on the Delaware coast is usually cool and can be windy, especially on the open stretches near the dunes. Light layers and a plan for headwind sections beat a fixed pace plan here.
