About the Run Hutchinson Island Half Marathon
Fort Pierce's barrier island race stays flat and coastal, tracing the inlet, Jetty Park, and the downtown waterfront before turning back toward the marina. A four hour limit and aid roughly every mile make it one of the more approachable early season Florida halves.
Course
The route leaves Causeway Cove Marina and works past Jetty Park, the Fort Pierce Inlet, the aquarium, and Museum Pointe Park. Runners pass beneath the South Causeway bridge rather than climbing it, so the profile never really breaks flat.
Race-day weather
Early October on the Treasure Coast is warm and humid well before sunrise. The pre dawn start helps, but the back half runs into rising sun and glare off the water.
