About the RBC Brooklyn Half

First held in 1981, the RBC Brooklyn Half has grown into one of the country’s largest half marathons. The coveted field is filled through a drawing and guaranteed-entry programs, and the boardwalk finish gives the race a distinctly Brooklyn payoff.

RBC Brooklyn Half course description

The race begins near the Brooklyn Museum, circles Grand Army Plaza, and covers a loop of Prospect Park before turning south. Ocean Parkway supplies a long, mostly straight second half, ending at the Coney Island Boardwalk.

Weather for the RBC Brooklyn Half

Mid-May conditions can range from crisp to warm and humid. Ocean Parkway offers little shelter, so pace conservatively when the temperature or sun climbs.
