Wolf Creek Race Management built the Rabid Raccoon 100 around Brady's Run Park in Beaver County, and the June weekend now spans a 100 mile, a 100K, a relay, half marathon combos, and a midnight half. The loop format keeps crews and drop bags in one place, which makes the race a practical first 100 for runners who want support close at hand.
Course
The 100 mile runs eight loops of about 12.5 miles on winding singletrack and gravel park roads, crossing hills, streams, and the shoreline of Brady's Run Lake. The repetition is the mental test, but each loop returns runners to a stocked base area, and the climbing accumulates steadily rather than in big mountain blocks.
