About the Shadow of the Giants 50K
This long-running California 50K is based at Camp Green Meadows near Fish Camp. Sierra forest scenery and a traditional small-race setup give it a clear identity beyond the distance itself.
Course
The trail course runs under a Sierra National Forest permit, with aid stations roughly five to seven miles apart. Regular starters receive eight hours, while an early start expands the available time to nine.
Race-day weather
Early June in the Sierra can start cool before warming quickly in exposed sections. Elevation, dry air and long gaps between aid make carried fluids important.
