Course
The certified single-loop course starts near the memorial and crosses downtown, Bricktown, the State Capitol area, northeast Oklahoma City, and historic neighborhoods before returning. The 6.5-hour support window and timing checkpoints at miles 7.5 and 20 matter for back-of-pack pacing, while 168 memorial banners keep the race's purpose visible along the route.
Race-day weather
Late April in Oklahoma can be comfortable at sunrise and much warmer by mid-race. Wind is always the wildcard, and if it shows up on exposed roads, the back half can feel longer than the profile suggests.
About the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon
The race is inseparable from the Oklahoma City National Memorial. That connection gives the weekend a weight and purpose that changes the tone, even though the event still has the size, support, and logistics of a major city marathon.
