About the Cedar Rapids Marathon
Cedar Rapids built its marathon weekend around downtown, with a certified course, a team relay, and shorter races that pulled thousands of entrants in the first year. It now anchors a late-April weekend in eastern Iowa, giving the state a spring road marathon between Des Moines and the Quad Cities.
Course
The course keeps to wide, paved city roads with long straight stretches and minimal elevation gain, staying close to downtown Cedar Rapids. It is a certified route designed for even pacing rather than scenery, and the relay shares the roads with the full.
