About the NM Chips and Salsa Half Marathon
RunFit, an Albuquerque nonprofit, has made this September race one of the city's signature halves. The name is not a gimmick: the race lands in green chile season, and the post-race spread leans into it. A 10K, 5K, and kids race share the morning.
Course
The course is a flat loop through the North Valley and Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, crossing the Rio Grande toward Rio Rancho before returning to the Alameda side of the river. The profile is fast, but the whole race sits at roughly 5,000 feet of elevation.
