About the Mountains to Main Street Half Marathon
A fast-growing race, now past 1,300 half marathon finishers, and a rare true point to point at the distance. The net downhill run from the Blue Ridge foothills into the city gives it a reputation for PRs, and the downtown finish gives it a reputation for atmosphere.
Course
Paved Swamp Rabbit Trail almost the whole way, starting in Travelers Rest and dropping steadily toward Greenville before a finish on the TD Stage on South Main Street. It is a greenway rather than closed roads, so the trail is narrow in places and the start is seeded accordingly. A four hour cutoff applies.
Race-day weather
Mid May in upstate South Carolina can already be warm and humid, with a 7 a.m. start in the 60s and a finish approaching 80. Tree cover along the trail helps, but the last miles into the city are more exposed.
