Course
The course is built to feel flat and quick rather than dramatic. Expect a straightforward road marathon where rhythm and pacing matter more than hills or scenery changes.
Race-day weather
Late March in Modesto is often cool at the start, calm enough for quick early miles, and warmer by the second half once the valley sun is up. Exposed sections can still make the back half feel slower than the splits suggest.
About the Modesto Marathon
Modesto Marathon is a straightforward Central Valley race that sells speed and convenience rather than scenery. It draws runners from the Bay Area and Sacramento for a flat course, easy logistics, and a credible Boston and New York qualifier setup.
