Course
SeaWheeze starts downtown on Hastings Street, runs through Chinatown and around False Creek to Kitsilano, then follows the West End and Stanley Park seawall before finishing near the Vancouver Convention Centre. The route accumulates 221 metres of climbing and 223 metres of descent across 21.1 kilometres, with several short rises rather than one sustained hill. Four wave starts and a 3-hour, 30-minute cutoff shape race-day pacing.
Race-day weather
Early August mornings near Vancouver Harbour are usually mild, with normal daily lows around 15°C and highs near 23°C. The 7 a.m. start limits peak heat, but exposed waterfront kilometres can add direct sun and breeze as the morning builds.
About the lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon
Created in lululemon's hometown in 2012, SeaWheeze grew into a 10,000-plus-runner half before a long hiatus. The event returns as a two-day celebration built around the race, with yoga, recovery programming, exclusive gear and the Sunset Festival in Stanley Park.
