  • August humidity is the main obstacle to a fast time.

About the Little Miami Half Marathon

This race turns one of the longest paved trails in the country into a summer PR course northeast of Cincinnati. After an opening mile through the village of Morrow, the field settles onto the Little Miami Scenic Trail for an out-and-back that stays remarkably consistent.

Course

The first mile runs through Morrow before joining the paved Little Miami Scenic Trail toward South Lebanon and Kings Mills. The old rail grade keeps elevation change minimal, and tree cover shades almost the entire route, which matters in August.

Race-day weather

Early August in southwest Ohio is hot and humid, with starts near 70 and finishing temperatures in the 80s. The trail's heavy shade is the course's best defense, but humidity still slows unadjusted pacing.
