Quick facts

  • Flat paved trail course, about as fast as a Seattle-area half gets.
  • Field has run near 500 half marathon finishers in recent years.
  • Craft beer garden at the finish, with a bottle opener finisher medal.
  • Narrow trail with two-way running after the turnaround.

About the Craft Classic Seattle Half Marathon

Orca Running built this one around the beer as much as the running, and the Seattle name is a metro label rather than a start line. Everything happens in Redmond, where a mid-size field of roughly 500 half marathon finishers has shown up each summer since 2018.

Course

Out and back from Downtown Park on the paved Sammamish River Trail, with riverside views and almost no elevation to speak of. The trail is narrow enough that two-way traffic matters once the leaders turn, so seeding yourself honestly at the start helps. Five aid stations cover the distance.

Race-day weather

Early August mornings around Puget Sound usually start in the 50s and stay dry. Sun exposure builds on the open trail sections as the race goes on, but humidity is rarely the issue it would be further east.
