About the Twilight at the Bay Half Marathon
Run Super Series, a Tacoma-area organizer active since 2016, stages this race as an evening event at Chambers Bay, the park that hosted the 2015 US Open. The late start flips normal race logistics: runners get a full day before the gun and finish as the light drops over Puget Sound.
Course
The half covers one longer loop plus three laps of the wide, well-paved Chambers Bay loop. Each lap mixes flat stretches with inclines and switchbacks and climbs roughly 236 feet, so the course rides like a rolling route rather than a flat one.
Race-day weather
August evenings near Puget Sound are usually mild and get cooler as the race goes on. The loop is open with little shade, so early laps can feel sunny before the twilight sets in.
