About the San Francisco Marathon 1st Half
The San Francisco Marathon 1st Half is the bridge-focused option on race weekend. It takes the opening half of the marathon experience, crosses the Golden Gate Bridge and finishes separately in the Presidio.
Course
Runners leave the Embarcadero, follow the bay and cross the Golden Gate Bridge before returning to San Francisco for a Presidio finish. The bridge and approaches add meaningful climbing, descending and exposure to wind.
