About the Greenway Half Marathon
GCXC Racing built this race on the Little Beaver Creek Greenway, a paved rail trail in Columbiana County. There is no parking at the trailhead, so every runner stages at Leetonia High School and rides in, and donations go to the county park district.
Course
The out and back runs entirely on the paved Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail, starting and finishing at the Leetonia Trailhead. Seven water stops cover the half marathon, spaced from mile 1.5 through mile 11.6.
Race-day weather
Early October in eastern Ohio usually means a cool, damp start and a mild finish. The trail sits in a wooded creek corridor, so shade is steady and wind rarely becomes a factor.
