About the Geneva Half Marathon
YellowJacket Racing built this race around the north end of Seneca Lake, giving the Finger Lakes a summer half with a real destination feel. A Saturday evening 5K and a two-person relay round out the weekend, with the half run Sunday morning.
Course
The route starts and finishes at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center on the Geneva lakefront, keeping Seneca Lake in view early before moving through the surrounding wine country roads. Expect a mix of lakefront flat and gentle rollers rather than a pancake course.
Race-day weather
Early August in the Finger Lakes is warm and often humid, with starts in the 60s climbing toward the 80s. The lakefront can offer a breeze, but sun exposure builds through the morning.
