Course
Start and finish share the road west of the Fuso Chemical Arena at Sandanike, and the JAAF-certified route follows the Yura River valley to a turnaround in the Oe district at about 25 km. Ten intermediate checkpoints close on a fixed schedule, the first at 3.2 km after 35 minutes, and the finish closes six hours after the 10:00 start. A pair relay with legs of about 21.4 km and 20.8 km shares the course.
Race-day weather
With a 10:00 start, most runners are out through the middle of the day, so a cold late-November morning in the Fukuchiyama basin usually eases as the race goes on. Bring a layer for the wait before the gun. Rain is the main unknown at this time of year.
