The marathon is the full-distance sibling at the Flint Hills 50 and Marathon. Its smaller Kansas trail setting offers a markedly different experience from a city road race while keeping Manhattan as the event base.

Runners cover an off-road marathon through the Flint Hills landscape around Manhattan. Rolling terrain, changing surfaces and exposure reward an even effort rather than a pace plan borrowed from a flat road course.
