About the Gobbler Grind Marathon

This Kansas City-area marathon has a club-race feel and a long Thanksgiving-season history. The full and half use Overland Park's trail system, keeping most of the experience away from busy city streets.

Course

The certified course follows paved recreational trails with gradual rollers, underpasses, and repeated changes of direction. It is runnable but not perfectly flat, so even pacing matters more than attacking every descent.

Race-day weather

Late November can deliver excellent cool racing weather or a sharp mix of wind, rain, and freezing temperatures. Exposed trail sections amplify a north wind.
