About the Citrus Heritage Run Half Marathon
Inland Southern California's most distinctive January half, with fields in the mid hundreds and a habit of selling every distance. The setting inside a state historic park devoted to the citrus industry is the whole point, and it doubles as an early season tune up for spring marathoners.
Course
Groves, park roads and open ground through California Citrus State Historic Park, starting from Arlington Heights Sports Park. Long sightlines across the groves give views of the surrounding mountain ranges, and live music sits at several points along the route.
Race-day weather
Early January in Riverside is usually clear and cold at the 6:30 start, often in the 40s, warming quickly once the sun clears the mountains. Little shade means the last few miles can feel much warmer than the first.
