Bremerton Marathon

This is not the Washington marathon runners pick for easy splits. Kitsap Running keeps the event straightforward and local, and the appeal is the challenge itself: a scenic spring loop around Dyes Inlet with enough climbing to make the day memorable.

The marathon circles the inlet through neighborhoods such as Manette, Illahee, Silverdale, and Brownsville. Roads stay mostly open, the terrain keeps rolling toward genuinely steep sections, and clear days bring water, forest, and mountain views that soften the sting a bit.

April on Kitsap Peninsula usually means cool air and a decent chance of damp roads or light rain. Temperatures are often favorable, but hills and exposed stretches can still make wind matter.
