About the Akron Half Marathon
Akron's half reaches its twentieth running in 2026 and is separately timed within the city's signature fall race weekend. It offers the large-event experience without treating half runners as an afterthought to the marathon.
Course
The course is not flat: most of its roughly 445 feet of gain comes in the first eight miles. Only about 100 feet remain over the closing five, giving patient runners a chance to finish faster downtown.
Race-day weather
Late September in northeast Ohio often brings good running temperatures, but warm sun, rain or humidity remain possible. The early hills will raise effort even when conditions feel cool.
