Course
Rolling woodland singletrack at Northeast Park with two crossings of the Reedy Fork River on the half marathon route. The trail itself is not technical, but wet shoes for the back half and slick clay after rain change the effort more than the elevation does.

Piedmont North Carolina in mid January is genuinely unpredictable. Editions have run near 85 degrees and near freezing, and the river crossings make a cold year a serious exposure problem.
