Course
The half marathon starts near the William G. White Jr. Family YMCA in downtown Winston-Salem and follows a USATF-sanctioned route through city streets. Winston-Salem is not flat, so expect steady rollers rather than a purpose-built PR course.
Race-day weather
Early December in the Piedmont usually brings start temperatures in the 30s with dry, crisp conditions. Cold hands at the start are a safer bet than rain, though winter fronts can pass through.
