Course
The course is flat and fast along the Ohio River waterfront and through historic downtown Owensboro, starting at Smothers Park. Full and partial road closures keep the route clear of traffic.
Race-day weather
Late March mornings in western Kentucky start cold and often damp for the 7:00 a.m. central time gun. Wind off the Ohio River on the waterfront stretches is the main variable.
