Victory Marathon

The draw here is not crowd size or downtown energy. It is the chance to run through Vermillion Rise, a repurposed military complex that makes the race feel unlike most Midwestern marathons while still keeping the event small and community driven.

The marathon uses paved roads inside the former military property, with long uninterrupted sections and almost no traffic. It is flat enough to attract qualifier-minded runners, though the two-loop layout means you trade novelty late for predictability.

April in western Indiana usually means a cool start with a real chance of wind once the course opens up. That matters more here because the route is exposed in places and long straight sections can make headwinds feel stubborn.
