About the Tunnel Vision Marathon

Course
The opening tunnel creates a dark, enclosed stretch before the route emerges onto descending gravel trail. Efficient downhill form matters over many miles, and runners must carry the required light for the tunnel.
Race-day weather
August increases the chance of a warm, dry finish even when the tunnel and high start feel cold. Sun exposure and dust tend to grow as runners lose elevation toward North Bend.
