Trail Marathon Heidelberg now centers its long-course program on Heart Core Trail. The redesigned 45 km race replaces the former 41 km marathon and 50 km pairing while retaining the established Heidelberg event identity.

The route links steep trails around Heidelberg and accumulates about 2,019 metres of climbing across 45 km. Sustained ascent, technical footing and repeated descents make this an ultramarathon effort despite the compact distance.
