Course
The JAAF-certified course leaves Takaoka City Hall, passes the Takaoka Great Buddha and the Yamachosuji streetscape, and turns near Shin-Takaoka Station. It then crosses the Shinminato Bridge, runs through open farmland, and takes the Toyama Kita Bridge to a finish at Fugan Canal Kansui Park. If bad weather closes the bridge, a non-certified backup course is used.
About the Toyama Marathon
Toyama's mass marathon ties together Takaoka, Imizu, and Toyama City, and all three co-host it with the prefecture. The route is the draw: old town streets early, Toyama Bay and the Tateyama range in the middle, and farmland before the run into the prefectural capital.
