About the Thames Meander Autumn Marathon
The Autumn edition is one of three Thames Meander race days and gives marathoners a small, low-key alternative to a closed-road city event. Riverside landmarks and an accessible format shape the experience.
Course
Marathoners complete two 13.1-mile out-and-back loops on the largely flat Thames Path around Barnes and Richmond. Firm trail, riverside turns and shared public space call for awareness despite the gentle profile.
Race-day weather
Early October in London often favors cool running, but drizzle, wind and damp path surfaces are common possibilities. River exposure can feel chilly even when the temperature is otherwise mild.
